Electronic Records Management

Services: Records capture, Maintenance & Use, Records Disposal, Transfer of Permanent Records to NARA

The General Services Administration (GSA) and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) worked together to develop Universal Electronic Records Management (ERM) standards. Simultaneously, GSA incorporated these requirements into the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) under Special Item Number (SIN) 518210ERM (formerly GSA MAS 36’s SIN 51 600).

As technology has evolved and federal space has been reduced, the federal need for managing both physical and electronic records has grown in scale and complexity. In response to these challenges, GSA has partnered with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to help agencies comply with directives and regulations regarding federal records management. GSA and NARA worked together to develop Universal Electronic Records Management (ERM) standards. Contractors under Electronics Records Management Solutions (SIN 518210ERM) have certified their ability to meet NARA's ERM standards, helping agencies to ensure that records are reliable and authentic; have integrity; remain usable; and include the necessary content, context, and structure.
